Kilns of Ding

Kilns of Ding
Tea Hong

Aesthetic during Song Dynasty in China reflects an era of dignified elegance where minimalism in its highest sophistication prevailed. One type of artefacts which reflects that culture is the ceramics.

The “Kilns of Ding” ( Ding Yao, 定窯 ) in Jianzi, Hebei, one of the five main origins of Song wares, specialised in satin white glaze accentuated with rims in the colour of black coffee. They were popular in the households of both the people and the privileged classes.

We pay tribute to the civilisation of Song to bring to you our Jianzi line of teaware.
