It is not proven that whether it is the oldest oolong cultivar in Wuyi as they say, but it is certainly one that is not the easiest to cultivate and to produce from. Finding a farmer to process it to the taste profile that befits its legend and our quality demand has been a challenge. It took us 15 years. Presenting Tea Hong’s Iron Buddha Supreme, with that complex charcoal finish yet sweet floral aroma, stout yet lingering “rock tea” taste, delivered gently in a well-balanced infusion in a civilised way. This could very well be the only traditional style Wuyi that any connoisseur would fall in love with.

Alishan Guanyin, deep baked Taiwan oolong

Over a century of development since transplanting to Taiwan, tieguanyin produced in the emerald island is quite different from its cousin in Mainland China. The most common way to group different varieties of tea is by the category of processing method with which they are produced. Some call it Tea Classification, others Tea Categorisation. We think the later label is semantically more accurate.

A very limited batch produced in the mecca of xiao zhong gungfu black tea, Tongmuguan, this finely processed leaves of Meizhan is precious not because it is rare, but because it is so demanding to produce to this quality. It is not every year that we can achieve a gem like this.

Danhu Old Bush Song Cultivar, Phoenix dancong oolong
This is a very fantastic tea. I usually like the more fruity Dan Congs, such as the Eight Immortals Wudong or the Huangzhi Xiang Classic and have tried some more fruity Song Zhong from other sellers. But this tea, even though it doesn’t have the strong fruitiness that I usually enjoy so much, still makes me appreciate this tea even more for its very pleasant taste which I would probably describe as vanilla pinewood with a very pleasant sweetness. This tea has a very long and pleasant aftertaste and during the session the whole room fills with the unique smell of this tea.
But I think what makes this tea so unique for me is that its taste has a certain calm wisdom to it. Drinking this tea almost feels like a form of mediation that directs my thoughts inwards and makes me think about the things in life that truly matter. I don’t think any other tea I’ve drunk so far has so much wisdom in its taste. This works very well with the calming body sensation that this tea brings during the session. It is a gem in my tea collection that really has the perfect balance.
I prefer to brew it using 3g in a 100ml clay pot at 95°C, increasing the temperature to 99°C for the later infusions to get more out of the leaves.Tobias DHoney Pearl Pekoe, fresh jasmine scented green tea
Amazing scent of jasmine and a wonderful green tea
Believe me, this is better than walking in a jasmine garden coz I have done it before when the flowers were in full bloom. This tea smells cleaner, yet a lot more fragrant! The taste of the green tea is gentle, smooth and complex. I have never had any green tea tasting so sophisticated. This is a most awesome tea experience for me.

A Great Example
Very Impressive tea. The tea has a floral taste that gives way to a more savoury flavor. The huigan is strong and the tongue and lips tingle. Thick mouthfeel. The flavor is much stronger than the aroma which invades the mouth and has a strong mineral quality. I needed to use less leaf and it gave so many brews.
One of the other reviewers asked about aging. I think there is the potential in this tea to age well. It’s a powerhouse. One of the habits that I always recommend is to take the tea out of its bag and put it into a tea caddy. In the 4 months I’ve had this tea, I can see a clear change for the better. Deeper, smoother, more lovely. Look no further for a better example of Milan Xiang.
