    A good dianhong

    This tea had a great complexity with a sweet tannic aftertaste in the throat and lower mouth. Really nice with the suddle citrus, and it carries itself well because it is not to weak. I feel like the more golden tips may give aroma but this tea has a nice balance between the two. Definitely a lot more complex and interesting than other more floral dianhongs I’ve tried.

    I am sorry if this has disappointed you. For the next batch, we shall have to wait till next harvest, which will be Spring 2016. By the time we finish screening and re-finishing the tea, it probably will be put on shelf by May.

    2013 vs 2011

    Hello Sofina, this is a great question. No one can be 100% sure of how the 2013 will mature. However, given proper storage condition, we believe this stock will become a better tea in two year’s time than the 2011 batch now. We agree with you that there will be more tastes and thereby to mature into a fuller body and a mellowed down astringency. If you are interested in maturing this tea, we shall launch a new bigger pack size that will be more advantageous for maturing. Hopefully that’s before this batch is sold out. 😉
