Taste Profile

Warm, nutty aroma with a definitive steamed mung bean undertone and hints of sweet floral fragrance. Tasty (umami) and yet clean infusion with a sharp pitch of raw ginseng bitterness with tints of salt. Long umami aftertaste and sweetness at the throat.

Infusion Tips

The taste character is quite different, albeit pleasant, when this tea is infused lightly. To experience its full spectrum, steep the leaves in a well pre-heated high density Yixing pot between at 75~80°C and infuse with a minimum of 2 g of leaves to each 100 ml of water for 4 to 6 minutes.

  1. Great Quality

The Longjing I had previously tasted (perhaps bought from generic market) had nutty aroma and aftertaste. I was curious how much different would the Longjing from Tea Hong be, since this is already supposed to be Grade 1 in mass market.
So I infused it according to the infusion tips with about 3g of leaves in a 150mL gaiwan. I was surprised upon smelling the aroma for.the first time! It smelled like steamed chicken or brothy thick chicken soup (forgive me if this sounds strange), but I guess yes that’s the umami flavor mentioned in the description. The umami was really strong yet very pleasing. Made me wonder that I was actually having a cup of tea. Sweet taste and very refreshing. Umami aftertaste yes, as if you just ate steamed chicken on the ceiling of your mouth but refreshing sweet on your tongue, quite long aftertaste. Very enjoyable, highly recommended! I’m gonna be a regular customer for sure.

  2. Good price for quality

This is nice tea to serve big party and not lose face. I tried this because I had 12 people coming for lunch and there was not much remaining long jing tealeaves I bought from Hang Zhou. So I buy this tea from Tea Hong, together Wuyi Shuixian and a nice looking gai wan set for free delivery. The leaves not so nice looking like my Hang Zhou tea because mine was many times more expensive. The taste is much better than the price. At first I thought I will use this as back up, but decided to use as the main tea. I did not tell my friends this tea from internet shop and they thought it is the expensive Before Qing Ming Long Jing I bought from Hang Zhou. I did not lose face using a cheap backup. Thank you.
