The light colour “duan sha” particles are clearly visible on the underside of the lid especially at the edge, where the covering “Huang Long” clay has been polished away in order for the lid to sit tightly on the neck of the pot.
Zhou Shun Fang
A veteran Yixing teapot artist born in 1957 in the very area of Yixing and grew up with the clay teapot, Zhou runs his studio Zi-ni Lao Zuo Fang ( Purple Clay Old Man Workshop ) producing works that appeal to the collectors as well as the tea enthusiasts. He focuses particularly in the use of clays and the processing of original ores. His works have repeatedly won for him awards and have appeared many times in various national teapot magazines. A piece from him is so hard to get that we are quite happy to be able to have acquired this one to present it here.
