Classic White Utility Gaiwan 150
Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking
I keep my Classic White Utility Gaiwan at work and use it every day. Today, I thought I’d lost her. The lid slipped from my hands and fell to the tile floor. It clinked and clattered but didn’t shatter. In fact, there is not a ding, crack or chip on it anywhere. I’ve heard that porcelain is very strong and this is proof. I rinsed off the lid and went about brewing another cup. Today I mixed my last bit of Snow Orchid with a little bit of Shiguping Wulong to stretch it. Maybe the lid jumped out of my hands in protest for this sacrilege. Nonetheless, I’ve been enjoying many pleasant cups out of my sturdy and useful gaiwan.Karen Ager
Shèmen Dancong Double Baked 2016
Tea Hong never disappoints.
One of the best Oolongs I ever had, this Shèmen Dancong Double Baked has a rich peach note, both in the aroma and the taste. Try to experiment with short AND longer infusions, both will bring you different, but very rich and complex results.
It’s an unique tea and isn’t comparable to other Oolongs in my honest opinion as these peach, mandarin notes change their complexity and aroma over the course of the infusions. You won’t regret buying it.Maximilian Vorhoff
Excellent fresh “clouds and mist” green tea
Tianshan April Mist (“Wild Bush Yunwu”): This is a green tea of the yunwu (“clouds and mist”) type. The pictures show a tea with vividly deep green leaves, twisted into small curls. Since it is a yunwu type and the description uses words like strong, bright, and sharp, it grabbed my attention immediately. Leo says that this tea is, “for those who prefer strength in their green tea rather than soft, rounder tastes.” That sounds like me, so this was the tea that I anticipated the most. I was surprised when I opened the container – the smell is very fresh and pungent, but not in a bad way. In fact, the dry leaves have a stronger smell than any other green teas I have had. The infusion is a lively light green, and gives a brisk but full-bodied, fresh, and flavorful taste. It really brings those bright “green tea” qualities to the foreground. I am really fascinated by this tea, which has such an unassuming appearance. Since trying this tea for the first time, it has become my “go to” green tea. As a bonus, its status as a “clouds and mist” green tea makes me feel like I’m drinking tea with Taoist hermits deep in the mountains. 😉pancakes
Song Cultivar 2018
A deep citrus flavor pervades the mouth that carries through for endless brews. Huigan is huge and long lasting. The tea has some power and quick infusions bring out its smoothness and good mouthfeel. This was a treat!Jeffrey Novick
Narcissus Classic 2016
Delicious and carefree tea
I bought this tea for a lunch party for the price, because there were 8 guests, so I guessed I would use up the whole pack for it. I left the leaves in an 8 cup pot to refill for two times and changed once afterward to refill once. So total 40 cups. There is still half a pack of leaves. The tea was aromatic, delicious and great with the meal. Everyone enjoyed it. Strength of the tea was not quite even because of this steeping method, but that was expected. However, this quality is beyond my expectation for the price!Jean v. Young
Jianzi Tall Foot 150
Beautiful and very good materials
Crystal clear sound and very sharp edges for real gungfu tea making. The size is large enough for bigger cups and fits my hand very well so I don’t feel difficult to control it. Most important is it looks very pretty and modern on my tea tray. Love it!Ai Han Ngau
