New Products, Upcoming Harvest,
and a Much needed reboot
|
This morning the thermometer was quite a few degrees above 0°C and those little robins wiggled on the branches in front of our balcony again. February is drawing to a close and in less than a month Spring harvests will begin.
|
In addition to restocking over a hundred of our tea varieties, visiting old farmer friends and reaching out for new ones, there is also quite a substantial list of new products that we have already planned way before our relocation.

New products
Besides the Japanese line that we introduced earlier this month, there are quite a large number of new products that we have to release this year:
|
- a collection of artist made kyūsu (to go with our beautiful Japanese teas, of course)
- a very large collection of Yixing teapots, including some rare finds from the 60’s and 70’s; some are collectors’ level, but many are beautifully utilitarian too
- a new summer teaware collection
- new Phoenix oolong varieties
- new Taiwan varieties
- new Pu’er chabings
- and a nostalgic 1960’s Hong Kong grass root yumcha collection

Our system reboot
Before we can hire meaningful assistants here in Japan, my wife and I most definitely need a reboot before we can be energised again for the heavy work ahead. The several months of tackling with the unique business environment here to set up our operation have been quite draining.

Our two week sabbatical will begin on March 1. That means orders received after March 27 (23:59 pm Japan time, UST+9) will be processed after March 14.
|
We shall continue to answer emails through the leave, but maybe not as timely as usual.
|
|
Please accept my apology for this late alert. I was actually still writing a new product release newsletter two days ago. When at 12:30 am I read what I wrote I realised I really need a meaningful break.

So be careful not to break your teapot or gaiwan yet, it’ll be a couple of weeks before they can be replaced.
