A number of orders already shipped are still stuck in the heavy holiday traffic. Hopefully they will be delivered soon enough. Although this is normal for sending orders through post anywhere, the delay in our reopening hasn’t helped. Thank you for all the patience you have with us. It has indeed been a great struggle to relocate to this conservative and extremely bureaucratic operation environment.

The Japanese Collection
|
Although the set up of our office and operation here in Japan has been exceedingly tedious, we are keeping the plan for the release of our Japanese tea collection, and actually expanding it after studying the market and meeting more producers.

“Flight into Egypt” by Ren Yifang, pigment and ink on Chinese "Xuan" paper, early 20th century. Collection at the Vatican Museum. Ren was a devoted Catholic and had created a large number of paintings depicting biblical events. He was later a victim of violence during the infamous Cultural Revolution and ended his own life. For me, this picture has a lot of relevance at this time of the year, especially for this year.
