Teas from Uji and other parts of Japan

Harvest update
Hello reader,

In Japan, harvest of tea begins in the warmer south, such as Kagoshima, in April and moves gradually up north. In Uji, where we have consistently get green teas with really astounding taste, they began in mid May this year. We have sampled most teas that we want, except for those absolute quality master grade matcha, which we shall be getting in a couple of days. Our producer takes great care and pride in grinding the tea, so it takes time.

We shall be finalising our stock intake for all Japanese teas shortly. If you have not yet placed your order with us, please do so as soon as possible. We do not overstock this group of products.

To remind you what we have, here is our product list again:
  • Uji Matcha, top master grade
  • Organic Uji Matcha, top grade ceremonial
  • Organic Uji Matcha, ceremonial
  • Uji Gyokuro, competition grade
  • Uji Sencha, competition grade
  • Yame Sencha Traditional (top grade)
  • Shiraore Gyokuro, top grade
  • Shiraore Sencha, top grade
  • Ise Matcha, top grade ceremonial
  • Organic Ise Matcha, top grade ceremonial
  • Ise Gyokuro, top grade
  • Ise Kabusecha
As some of you have already preordered, lower grades sencha, gyokuro and matcha from Uji and Ise (Mie) are also available.

Harvests of Japanese style green tea produced in Vietnam, Thailand and China can begin much earlier. Often they come with more space for markup at the compromise of quality and taste. We do not offer such products.

This year, we shall need to finish shipping all wholesale orders by the second week of July, before we can ship orders again in late September. Please do let us know if you need to get any other things from us to avoid delay of delivery.

Cheers,
Leo Kwan
Although we have not got our top grade matcha from Uji yet, we have that from Ise. It's not as exquisite as the Uji we are waiting for, but extremely fine already.
