Winter harvests: Wonderful Teas to roundup 2023

Dear reader,

As you may have known, the weather for Spring 2023 has not been too ideal for a number of finer tea varieties and we couldn’t intake a few of our staple selections. That is why some very popular teas on our internet shop are sold out after the existing stocks are gone, such as one of our most beloved Phoenix dancong Eight Immortals Wudong, the elegant Taiwan green tea Snowy Egret and the rare quality yellow tea Mo Gan Yellow Snails. When a harvest does not meet our quality requirement, we simply cannot put it there to represent the value that we deliver.

Hopefully it will be better next Spring.

This Winter, however, I have good news. We have seen quality returns.

From Phoenix, for both of our must-haves, Snow Orchid and Jade Orchid, we are getting better quality than ever. The producer for our Snow Orchid is good enough to follow our idea to do a slightly longer oxidation and give the freeze-dried tea a round of light baking for better balance between the aroma and taste. So we have a tea with a sweeter, rounder body while not losing that signature natural bouquety lush fragrance.

Naturally, this is easier said than done. Skills aside, the harvest quality is essential, and we have been blessed for the season.

The traditionally light-baked style Jade Orchid is simply better in every way. Smoother, sweeter and more floral. As a fine Winter Phoenix (Xue Pian) should be.

From Taiwan

In addition to these two Phoenixes, Taiwan’s Winter harvests are in as well: Jinxuan, Dong Ding, Four Season, and the mesmerising winter Biluochun. Our beloved producer Chen has also specially baked for us the recently trendy “Red Water” ( Hong Shui ) Oolong.

Please let us know if you need to replenish your stock or interested in adding any of these in your repertoire or if you want to find out more.

As the festive holiday is closing in, may I wish you a wonderful season, and Peace and Happiness for Christmas,

Leo Kwan
