This is a lovely pitcher, the glaze on the exterior is remarkably soft and smooth to the touch, and at the center of the interior is a beautiful plum blossom motif.
Both the interior and exterior are glossy, which draws attention to it even though the color is soft, matte, and subdued. It’s clean and won’t jump out at you, but it sure will draw your gaze in.
The tip of the spout is utterly flawless, it’s perfectly centered and it pours smoothly, with a clean break to the stream. It’s difficult to get this one to dribble, even if you’re filling up very small cups (20-30mL).
The shape is nice, it holds heat well and retains the aromatics of the tea, which I appreciate because I always sniff the bottom of an empty pitcher between brews.
Very impressed by this – for less than $10 I don’t think you can find a better chahai … and, why would you want to spend more, when you can get this instead?
My favorite Chahai!
First of all the design is beautiful with a nice painting on the ground and beautiful color.
Due to the short, wide shape the tea liquor doesn’t move through a lot of air, making sure it’s not unnecessarily oxidized and does not loose much of its aroma and temperature. The material and the slightly more narrow opening keeps the liquid warm, especially if the teaware has been heated up before.
The only wish I would have would be to make it slightly larger, with a capacity of slightly over 200ml so that it always has enough space for larger pots as well.
This comment has actually inspired us of an idea of developing a line of teaware for larger serving. Thank you!
