Li Guo Qiang

portrait of Li Guo Qiang

Li Guo Qiang

Besides apprenticeship with senior artists in Yixing, Li Guo Qiang’s passion for mastering the teapot has taken him to study more extensively at the Central Academy of Art and Crafts ( now as the Academy of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University ). That is why his works are exceptionally exact, each shape more refined, each line more precise. When there are inscriptions on the teapot, they are always classically disciplined, clean and elegant.

He is a native of Henan province and currently based in Yixing.

Li also proactively participates in the refining of the clay for his own work. This piece is a good example of his efforts. Unlike his other pieces that we previously offered, we found this one in the personal collection of another Yixing artist. We like it a lot and snatched it from his collection together with some of his other rarer pieces that we shall offer.

Li’s reinterpretation of the classic Lotus Seed form style is not only beautiful visually, but is also creatively practical for good tea making.

Packing: Tea towel pull bag in collector’s case

Collector box for Yea Hong's Yixing Teapots

All Yixing teapots at Tea Hong are delivered with a pull-string towel sack in a collector box with cushions inside.

Note:

Unless otherwise stated, all Yixing teapots are new from the kiln. Please properly clean and prepare them before making tea in them. There is a proper procedure to do that. It is described at:
Yixing Teapots, An Introduction | Tea Guardian

We try our best to represent the colours of all tea accessories, including Yixing teapots in the product photographs. However, there are many factors that we cannot control, including those that affect how the photos are rendered in your computer or mobile device. There maybe interpreted discrepancies between the colour as seen on this site and that of the product you receive.

Please also note that since all our Yixing teapots are handmade, in the situation when there are more than one copy available for an item, small details, such as the capacity, a particular curve, or certain detail proportions, etc may have slight variation.
