We shall begin our move to Nagoya this July. Since it will involve packing our whole workshop and inventory to ship across the ocean to this inland city in Japan, and then setting up again, there will be a period of time that we cannot deliver the tea you need.

Suspension of service from July 8 till September

Please bear with us during this very critical time in this dramatic change. It means a lot to us.

We hope we can resume operation by September. However, things beyond planning and calculation can happen when rebuilding an operation in a new environment. We shall keep you updated regularly.

While one huge advantage for operating from Nagoya is the proximity to various major production bases of Japanese tea, and indeed we shall offer a collection of it very soon, we shall continue to maintain our identity as a Hong Konger’s teashop, offering the finest traditional teas from China, Japan, Nepal, Taiwan, and in the future other regions where we can find great and stable quality from. We will continue the true tradition of Hong Kong as a global city.

Many new products await

Other than a new line of Japanese tea that is waiting to be released, there are also a few new varieties of Pu’er, Phoenix, and black teas, one of which is from Taiwan produced from a special cultivar originated in India, but quite unlike what you may get from an Indian tea. A number of the much awaited sold out varieties will be replenished as well.

Additionally, a huge collection of very fine and rare Yixing teapots, artist-made kyuusu (Japanese teapots, or kyūsu, but not “kyusu” as often misspelled as, and not to be mixed up with Kyushu), together with a few other infusion vessels, will be launched once we can finish the documentation, write up and photo shooting.

During the actual suspension of service

Before we are setup to operate again, we shall stay connected. You can continue to write to us, by email or through IG or FB. I believe product reviews can still be added on the site as well. The website will stay live except that you cannot place an order. I may even post new articles in Tea Log.

For our b2b clients, we shall continue to monitor your order if it is still in transit and continue to communicate with you about your order if it is placed after June 17, but cannot ship anything during the actual process of relocation.

Nagoya — a new era for us

We are excited to start work and life again in a new environment, and look forward to adapting to the local culture. If you happen to know anyone there who would be willing to help us fit in, please be generous enough to make that connection.

Huge amount of work awaits, but I shall continue to keep you updated!
