Galaxy Bell, stoneware teapot with low key lustre glaze
If you look for an infusion vessel for a rounder taste effect in the direction of a zisha tea pot, but prefer a more casual caring and freer usage with a diversified range of teas, this is an option.
Normally one would see bright colours and eye-catching designs in lustrewares. The studio that produced this prefers a more humble aesthetics. This is more akin to the true low key cultural tradition of tea itself. The ergonomics and pouring effect are closer to a basic Yixing teapot than a porcelain one. The tall silo structure with a dome top helps to make the tea richer than a straight-cylindrical vessel such as a taster’s mug.
Note: this item is manually assembled and glazed, and fired using a kiln temperature change for the visual effect. Please expect slight variations in colours, surface patterns, parts alignment and positions in the delivered product. Although it is glazed, the overall surface remains quite porous, and therefore can be absorbent like a zisha. It is advisable to avoid contact with any materials other than tea and water, particularly anything with grease or other tastes.
