Zhang Jing Ming
After graduating from Tsinghua University’s Academy of Arts and Design in Beijing (清華大學中央美術學院), Zhang furthered his training by apprenticing in the studio of the Great Master Fan Yung Liang 范永良. This has fostered a solid foundation for the artist both in the theoretical and practical side of the art of the Yixing teapot. That explains the minimalistic beauty and the unique warmth of his work.
His works have been in the permanent collections of major museums in China and well sought after by connoisseurs.
Stay away from the many vulgarly decorated fakes on the internet. His reputation, like many famous artists, has drawn a flooding of systematic counterfeits, many even with certificates and shopping bags with the artist’s name. See his works in any of the Yixing collections in museums and you will know what I mean.
We had not had any luck of getting any of his work until we searched the backside of one of our Yixing pot artist friends’ messy storage to find this two pieces, amongst some other surprises which we are keeping for ourselves. She got them as a peer exchange years ago and forgot about them being there. They are not really by his hands but his apprentices’, she said. Many better known Yixing artists do similar things: setting up a studio with one or more apprentices producing in their names. This seems to me a measure to play against those who steal their names and selling for cheap, yet flooding the market. This “studio” system at least offer works which quality is supervised by a genuinely certified master who wants to safeguard his/her reputation. We wouldn’t have been able to offer these two at such affordable price otherwise.

Note:
Unless otherwise stated, all Yixing teapots are new from the kiln. Please properly clean and prepare them before making tea in them. There is a proper procedure to do that. It is described at:
Yixing Teapots, An Introduction | Tea Guardian
We try our best to represent the colours of all tea accessories, including Yixing teapots in the product photographs. However, there are many factors that we cannot control, including those that affect how the photos are rendered in your computer or mobile device. There maybe interpreted discrepancies between the colour as seen on this site and that of the product you receive.
Please also note that since all our Yixing teapots are handmade, in the situation when there are more than one copy available for an item, small details, such as the capacity, a particular curve, or certain detail proportions, etc may have slight variation.
