Zhou Yu Wang’s family has been processing Yixing clay for generations. That is why his work has always been in the demand for reliable quality. This teapot in the traditional form style of Reverse Handle Concubine is an exceptional example of his work in the painstaking precision of how the lid fits into the pot. The lid style — Ke Jie Gai — is manifested beautifully. A seal stamp on the inside wall is a popular way of proof of an all hand-built teapot. The seal has to be stamped on the clay slab before forming into the pot body.

The engraving on the pot is of a popular poem from the 11th century poet Su Shi, When will the moon be clear and bright? ( to the tune of Shuidiao Getou — Water Melody ) It is a poignant work which can be interpreted both romantically and politically.
