Another piece in the same kiln change series by Umehara is the 350 ml Striated Chakkiri Kyūsu.
A well-formed small minimalist practical piece
Master Umehara has inherited the renowned Gyokuko Master’s workshop 玉光陶園 as the second generation successor not because of bloodline, but for the dedication and talents he has shown through decades of outputs, exhibitions and awards. This piece is selected from one of the Master’s “Kiln Change” series not only for the artistry in aesthetic and material processing, but also for its good ergonomics and pouring quality. It represents well one of the master’s styles that is more minimalist.
This is a handmade item. Each individual piece delivered may have slight variations in colour, pattern, shape and details from the particular one used in these pictures. Please note also that because of the unique and tiny surface crystalisation of this item, the colours rendered in the photos under the photo lights maybe slightly different when under a different lighting environment.
