  • Danhu Old Bush Song Cultivar 2014

Danhu Old Bush Song Cultivar, Phoenix dancong oolong

It took some time for me to fully understand this tea since there are many more aspects to research and enjoy.
It is complex but simple. The citrus note takes the center of the stage at all movements. Aroma, taste, mouthfeel, aftertaste and even the body sensation from it’s force are resemble to my experiences with good citrus fruits. This tea can dive deep and pull me to the bottom of my mind and bring enjoyment from the ground up.

This tea is the cornerstone of my life experience and it will always find its place in my heart.

  • Red Cloak Grande 2016

Red Cloak Grande, Wuyi yancha oolong

    Wasn’t impressed with 2012 version

I truly expected more from this yancha after trying your fabulous Sacred Lily. I feel like the mineral rock taste of this one is a bit lacking compared to Sacred Lily. Perhaps it’s because the roast here seems to me a little overdone as the leaves struggle to open up even when using 99c water, high pour with yixing teapot.

  • Tieguanyin Classic Mellow 2005

    Tieguanyin Classic, deep baked oolong

    The Whiz Kid

I was told that it is not an easy tea to prepare nor to appreciate, so I was a little anxious when opening it.
I choose to brew it with a low leave to water ratio and it immediately appeared that the real complexity of the tea is that it can offer a wide range of tastes.
In these conditions, this tea develops very sweet and gentle taste of plum and date, brilliantly balanced by the woodsy aromas from the baking process.
I am eager to prepare it again with other parameters, I am already amazed by its the wide range of possibilities.
To summarize, to me this tea is not the wild child I expected but a more a whiz kid who can show you tons of wonderful tastes if you can guide him.
Thanks to all Tea Hong staff for this great discovery!
