Wild Tree Black Tea, processed in the gongfu tradition
$ 17.90
Deserted Old Farm:
Wild Tree Black Tea is Tea Hong’s very own product developed from the old tea bushes in a deserted farm we discovered for creating its smooth and pleasant taste profile. It offers a delicate floral character without being astringent; tastefulness while sweet. This is possible only by masterfully processing the first flush of this secret tea bush that we grow on the hills on the northern tip of Fujian, from which tribunal teas had once been the most prized for centuries.

Taste profile
Nose: Soft, fresh floral aroma with accents of leaf herbs. Tones of honey and ripened fruits. Palate: Bright and yet smooth infusion of delicate fruity sweetness. Soft bites of plum peel and tones of fresh herbs. Finish: Long, malty sweet aftertaste.
Infusion tips
An adaptable black tea for infusing either conventionally or using the gongfu approach. Follow proper procedures and infuse at 90°C for its optimum taste profile. However, it is extremely tolerant of infusion mistakes, like forgetting the brew there for 20 minutes.

My first experience with this
This is the first time I ever heard of this tea and the first that I ever tried it. To me, it is rather like a combination of black tea and oolong. Normally I think black tea lacks the great smell and soother and more complex tastes of oolong, but this one has some of these characters. I am totally surprised! I have tried it using both gongfu style and ordinary teapot way. Like it.
